Hairpin Crochet

I learned something new!!Hairpin crochet!! I did this as part of a CAL in Ravelry!! When I joined the CAL I had not even heard about this technique.

But then its always fun to learn new things right? Made these flowers using this tutorial!! If you are new to hairpin crochet like me, I think these are the flowers you should start with. After 3 failed attempts I finally nailed it ( I think I did). And I couldn't stop with just one. I had U hooks of two sizes. Made one flower with each. They can be used as a brooch, on bags, as clips, on photo frames, endless options..

Before I go an itsy bitsy peek into something else I am working on. More about it later. Have fun!!

Flower Tray Mat

Finally, I decided I will just join my flowers to make a tray mat sort of thing. There are 20 flowers in total.

When joined there was two much space in between for a cushion (which I had planned to turn them into originally)

But all is well that ends well right? It can adorn my side table or my tea tray. Lets see!! Wishing you all a happy weekend!!

More flowers!!

I told you I will make more of these flowers. I still have not decided what to do with them. Maybe a cushion cover, or I might just join them and keep them on a table.

Right now just enjoying the process of making them. Might make 4 or 5 more and then decide what to do with them.

Japanese Flower Motif

Had to try making these after seeing them in Attic24 and Suz Place. Here is my version. I took help from these blogs and tried my best to read a chart for the first time. The original Pattern is from Motif Book by Nihon Vogue .
