Hairpin Crochet

I learned something new!!Hairpin crochet!! I did this as part of a CAL in Ravelry!! When I joined the CAL I had not even heard about this technique.

But then its always fun to learn new things right? Made these flowers using this tutorial!! If you are new to hairpin crochet like me, I think these are the flowers you should start with. After 3 failed attempts I finally nailed it ( I think I did). And I couldn't stop with just one. I had U hooks of two sizes. Made one flower with each. They can be used as a brooch, on bags, as clips, on photo frames, endless options..

Before I go an itsy bitsy peek into something else I am working on. More about it later. Have fun!!

How fun are those? I love how lacey and girly they are! I'll have to find some U-pins to try these out. Thanks!

I have a crochet book with hairpin patterns but have never attempted them. Not sure about the u hooks --

Are you working on a giant granny? Our craft store is having a sale so I want to go get some yarn to start my own.

Have a great week. Tammy

Love how lacy and pretty your flowers turned out. My SIL tried to show me this technique once but I've forgotten it already... will have to try it again!

Wow--those crocheted flowers are really unique, and I LOVE the colors you worked with. The buttons add a very fun and retro touch! I never heard of hairpin crochet--I must admit--now I feel so foolish.

Your granny project peek is lovely too--you are so very talented. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I appreciate it! Victoria
